This year’s WordCamp Dallas event is being held on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas. This world-class institution is not only one of the highest ranked schools in the nation, but also a leader in technology and computer sciences. We are extremely grateful that the University was generous enough to sponsor WordCamp and support the open-source development community.

Being a large public University, the UTD campus can be a little tricky to navigate, so we’re providing these maps to help you make your way easily and efficiently to WordCamp. First, we’ll start out with a downloadable map of the campus as well as an interactive map.

If you take a look at the map you’ll see that the main entrance onto campus is from the South on Campbell Road. If you’ll enter from this side, you can simply follow the road to the right until it ends, then take a left and park in Lot “Q” as indicated by the red arrow. WordCamp is being held at the School of Management building, marked with a yellow star.

If you enter the building from the parking lot, go all the way down the hall to the other side of the building and that’s where everything will be taking place. We’ll have some signs to help guide you.

Our lectures will be taking place in the Davidson Auditorium, which seats 300 people. The good news is that there is a free publicly accessible WiFi network which should suit our needs perfectly. The bad news is that there are hardly any plugs in the lecture hall, so bring an extra battery if you want to use your laptop all day!

Here are a few photos of the lecture hall and surrounding area where we’ll be:

You may have noticed another lecture room in those photos. If you look closely you’ll see that those desks all have power plugs on them. So, you can feel free to go in there and charge up when needed, and we can even eat lunch in there in order to get some juice.

If you have other questions about the location please drop a comment below and we’ll get right on it.
